Liberty Counsel (LC) has a petition calling for an emergency suspension of Californica's homosexual marriage ruling. The ruling -- that overturned the will of the people passed in Proposition 22 and declared homosexual marriage a "fundamental right" under Californica's constitution -- goes into effect in a few weeks. The petition won't stop the ruling from going into effect, but it will delay the ruling until after the November election, when the people will vote on a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as being between a man and a woman.
LC's goal is 25,000 signatures. So far, they have about 20,000 signatures, but a lot of them are from out of state. I think they'll need several times that many to be effective.
